Sisters of Social Service

The charism of the SSS religious community empowers members to grow in their awareness of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit’s action in the world by engaging actively in the social mission of the Church

SSS spirituality is rooted in the Benedictine tradition. We organize shared prayer, reflection, and contemplative sharing to deepen our spiritual lives as a community of sisters.

SSS Spiritual Sisters

We are women who believe in the power of community and prayer. We have been meeting consistently every two weeks. Our meeting is one of the hidden gifts that came out of the pandemic. This group was initiated to help us connect from afar. We have sisters from the Philippines, Taiwan and Mexico, Canada praying with sisters in Milwaukee, Los Angeles, Encino and San Diego.

In the spirit of Ubuntu, I lead my sisters in prayer and contemplation. Our SSS Spiritual Sisters pray together every two weeks. We have been meeting consistently for almost three years now.

Reflecting with sisters in formation…Sr. Lisa, Sr Betty, Sr. Raquel, Sr. Mary Grace and Lyn. Blessed experiences with women called in the Spirit.

The SSS message of joy in the Spirit of God is echoed by the SSS sisterhood in coming together in SSS Federation. Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Philippines, Mexico, Canada and the United States…together, we share the message of Jesus Christ. He beckons us even further afield as we consider work in Africa.

Enjoying our shared sisterhood, we celebrate the communal friendship we share. Meeting each other in our common commitment to carrying out the works of the Holy Spirit in our world, we praise our Lord for sisterhood.
